Since the economic downturn of last year, NCCF has been actively listening and learning about how these events have affected the nonprofits in our county. We know that you face great challenges as the demand for your services increases while resources are scarce. We at the NCCF have also been affected by this economic environment and unfortunately, the amount available for grantmaking will be less in 2010 than in previous years. However, we are committed to serving the community and are here to assist you as we move forward together.
We expect 2010 to be particularly competitive, with more applications and fewer dollars. As a result, priority will be given to applications that address immediate and essential community needs and projects with the greatest community impact. Less emphasis will be given to funding new initiatives.
Our 2010 Community Grants Program deadlines of March 1st and September 1st will remain the same. However, rather than submitting a full application on these dates, NCCF is requiring letters of interest by these due dates. Letters of interest should include: a project description, the estimated number of people who will impacted by your project, and the amount of funding you are requesting. Letters should not exceed 2 pages. Electronic submission of letters of interest are encouraged. The deadlines are 4:00 pm on March 1st and September 1st. Unfortunately, we will not be able to extend the deadlines.
Organizations selected to submit a full proposal will be notified by March 11th for the Spring Grants round and Sept. 9th for the Fall Grants round.
Grant Evaluations Due: Those who have received grants from the NCCF in the past are encouraged to submit their grant evaluation forms as soon as possible after completion of the grant project/period. Many are now due for 2009 grants and several are past due for 2008 grants. Grant evaluations are required before new grants will be awarded.
