Fall 2008 Grants Awards Announced

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) has awarded $22,129 to 9 different non-profit organizations through its Fall 2008 Community Grants Program.  This biannual program awards grants to non-profit organizations seeking funds to enhance the northern Chautauqua County community.

Agencies that have been approved by the NCCF Board of Directors for funding include:  Chautauqua Striders for Youth Tutoring at the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County, Darwin Barker Library for the purchase of lap top computers for a new computer classroom, Concord Grape Belt Heritage Association to facilitate a meteorology/agricultural education program within Chautauqua County, Dunkirk Historical Society to  facilitate various cultural community events within the Dunkirk Community, Salvation Army to purchase game room equipment, Chautauqua Opportunities for  emergency preparedness kits and blankets for Chautauqua County day care facilities, Patterson Library for construction of  a teen area within the Patterson Library, Fredonia Opera House to fund costs associated with classic movie rental fees and shipping, and  Chautauqua Leadership Network for  scholarships for 2009 Leadership Network participants.


The Community Grants Program awards grants twice a year.  The next application deadline is March 1, 2009.  For more information on making a gift to one of the NCCF’s unrestricted funds or on the grant application process, please contact the NCCF office at 366-4892.
