NCCF Awards Environmental Grants

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) has awarded $1,100 to 3 different non-profit organizations through its 2008 Environmental Grants Programs.  The Environmental Grants Program awards grants to non-profit organizations, which strongly promote educational programs related to Lake Erie, and it’s watershed.   The Environmental Grants Program is funded through the endowed Northern Chautauqua Environmental Fund.

Projects that have been approved by the NCCF Board of Directors for funding are:

  1. Dunkirk High School Earth Science Club- Oxygen Meter Stream Assessment Project
  2. Town of Pomfret- Bicentennial Tree Project
  3. Cassadaga Lakes Association -Lew Mead Memorial Youth Fishing Tournament

The Environmental Grants Program awards grants on a yearly basis.  The next application deadline is January 9, 2009.  For more information on making a gift to the Environmental Fund or to obtain further information, visit the NCCF’s Web site, www.nccfoundation.org, or contact the NCCF office at 366-4892.

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation was incorporated in 1986 as a tax-exempt charitable organization.  Since its establishment, the NCCF has distributed over $7.3 million into the community through its various grants programs.  It is an organization inherently committed to furthering its mission of enriching the northern Chautauqua community and encouraging local philanthropy.
